The Partners

  

Dr Nicola Scott (Nottingham 1982)  -  Joined the practice in 1986, involved in all aspects of general practice with a particular interest in women’s health, contraception and is able to provide a coil fitting service.  She is a GP trainer and takes responsibility for teaching and training registrars in the practice.  The lead GP in setting up chronic disease management clinics and ensuring the practice will meet the targets set by the national quality framework

 

Dr Peter Haslett (Oxford 1987) - joined the practice in 1992.  He has a particular interest in asthma, psychiatry, neurology and ophthalmology.  He has expertise in the use of a slit lamp, and his skills in ophthalmology are of considerable benefit to the practice.  He works with the PCT (Primary Care Trust), liaising on prescribing and audit.

 

Dr Michelle Saint  (London 1995) - joined the practice in 2001.  She spent time in the practice as a Registrar in 1996 and in 1998, and eventually joined as a Partner in 2001.  Dr Saint is interested in all aspects of general practice and has passed the Diploma in Practical Dermatology and has a special interest in Minor Surgery.

 

Dr Helen Smith (Birmingham 1996) - joined the practice in 2002.  Dr Smith graduated from Birmingham University in 1996 and worked in Birmingham and Herefordshire before moving to Bedfordshire.  She has special interests in women’s health and contraception (including coil and implant fittings) and teenage health.  Dr Smith also has particular skills in ophthalmology and dermatology

 

Dr Abdullah Khan (London 2002) - joined the practice as a registrar in 2005 and then stayed on as a partner in August 2006. He has a keen interest in general practice skills, especially Health Education/Promotion and awareness.

Dr Eap Soeng (London 2002) - joined the practice as a registrar in 2006 and was delighted to stay on as a partner from August 2007. Dr Soeng enjoys all aspects of medicine but in particular he has a keen interest in Children's medicine and minor surgery

 

Practice Manager

Mrs Debbie Barry is our Practice Manager and is responsible for the running of the practice.  She will help you with any questions about administration and non-medical aspects of your health and treatment at the practice.

 

Nurse Practitioner

Nicola Stokes, Sarah Clark RGN and Kate Philbin RGN have been trained to work as Nurse Practitioners and are available to deal with urgent minor problems.  Our receptionist will be able to advise whether your complaint is appropriate for the Nurse Practitioner to deal with, these will include the following problems:-

 

Asthma,  Backache,  Chest Infections,  Earache,  Emergency contraception,  Eye problems,   Thrush,  Hay fever,  Head lice,  High Temperature,  Migraine,  Mouth problems,  Nappy rash,  Rashes/Eczema/Impetigo,  Sore eyes,  Sprains,  Stings/Bites,  Stomach and Bowel problems,  Toenails,  Urine infections.

 

The Nurse Practitioner can prescribe and also issue sickness certificates.  She cannot, however, do repeat prescriptions.

 

Practice Nurses

We have five Practice Nurses, Nicola Stokes , Kate Philbin RGN, Sarah Clark RGN and Cassie Allen RGN, Caroline Giddings RGN,  Our nurses run health promotion, diabetic, CHD and Asthma clinics in addition to performing ECGs, dressings, routine immunisations, holiday vaccinations and ear syringing.

 

Phlebotomist

Our Phlebotomists – Lisane Fry and Victoria Robins are available for performing blood tests.

 

Health Care Assistant

Our Health Care Assistant, Victoria Robins is available on Monday afternoon, Wednesday and Friday mornings, she is able to deal with Dressings, ECGs, blood pressures, new patient medical, 24hr BP & ECG, Ear Syringes and patients requiring Merlin.

 

Reception

Our Receptionists and Secretarial Staff are here to help you and their role is to ensure the smooth running of reception.   They may need to ask you further details when you telephone to ensure that we can assist you appropriately, they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors and Nurses.  In addition, the District Nursing Team, Health Visitors and Midwives are based at the Health Centre in Oliver Street and work together with the Doctors.

Dispensary

Our dispensary staff are available to arrange repeat prescriptions and answer queries you may have about your medication.

The Dispensary is open from 9-1pm and again from 2.15-6pm
