Patient Satisfaction Survey
In November/December of every year a questionnaire is given out to a random sample of patients attending the surgery. This year 250 of these were returned, a significant number, which gives a true picture of our patients’ feelings about the practice. The picture from this year’s survey is very similar to last year. For a practice our size we continue to perform ‘above average’ on the questionnaire as a whole. The greatest improvement in satisfaction was with our telephone system. |

Patients not attending
If you find you cannot attend your appointment please phone the surgery to cancel.
This will help to enable availability of appointments for other patients at the surgery.
The ‘non attendance' of appointments at the surgery is disappointingly high, particularly those booked into specialist clinics such as asthma, diabetics etc.
In the month of February 123 patients did not attend their appointment. This equated to
20.5 hours of valuable clinician's time being wasted in one month alone.
Dermatology Clinic
Many of the doctors at Houghton Close have special areas of interest within General Practice.
Dr Saint completed her diploma in Practical Dermatology in 2004. She then started an in-house clinic in January 2007 for the partners in the practice to refer on to her. Since December 2007 she has furthered her experience by working with Dr Burova, Consultant Dermatologist, at Bedford Hospital on a weekly basis.
In January 2008, our in-house clinic expanded into a twice monthly PCT supported clinic, covering all Ampthill and Woburn surgeries.
Dr Saint has recently been accredited as a GP with Special Interest (GPwSI).
Whilst all GP's are able to deal with many skin problems, this clinic has enabled the practice to reduce hospital referrals whilst providing an excellent level of enhanced care.
A recent Patient Survey showed high levels of satisfaction with the service, and we hope this will continue in the future.
The surgery will be closed on the following days over the Easter period:
Friday 10th April 2009
Monday 13th April 2009
